CHAPTER 14 - 20
CHAPTER 14 - Purity of Heart
Images are very powerful - we can't "Unsee" something we have already looked at! Jesus asks us to be responsible and careful about what we choose to watch or look at.

- Is what you are choosing to watch, video games you play, images you look at or share on Instagram or SnapChat helping you to become the BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF?

A wonderful book to invest in is WHY AM I HERE by Matthew Kelly!
One day while he is fishing with his Grandpa, Max stumbles upon the ultimate question, Why am I here? His Grandfather suggests that Max is here to become the-best-version-of-himself! In the days and weeks that follow, Max begins to notice when he is and when he is not celebrating the-best-version-of-himself. This single idea becomes the touchstone for his decision-making, begins to guide his words and actions, and fosters a remarkable self-awareness. Why am I Here? is a remarkable lesson for children of all ages about living with passion and purpose.

CHAPTER 15 - Making Sense of Suffering
Nobody likes to be in pain or see a family member or friend in pain! It can be REALLY HARD to understand why God allows suffering and pain to happen to good people.
Jesus asks, when we are pain, to come to him for comfort! Jesus doesn't want us to suffer but understands our pain...he suffered not only physical pain but was laughed at, physically hurt, bullied and ignored!

- This week - remember to act like Jesus and COMFORT those who are in pain. Invite a classmate to sit with you at lunch who may be sitting by themselves. SPEAK OUT if you or someone you know is being bullied, and PRAY for those who may be sick or in pain!
CHAPTER 16 - Do not Judge
Jesus chose to hang out with the people that others would often ignore.
Jesus chose to hang out with the people that others would often ignore.
- Everyone wants to be treated kindly and with respect...that is the GOLDEN RULE!
- What does it mean to "judge someone"? If you don't know, ask your parent(s) to explain it to you.
- Do you judge other people?
- Each time you find yourself read to judge someone this week say this prayer:
Jesus, give me the grace to stop myself from judging others. Help me to be merciful like you!
Here is a cute song about the Golden Rule courtesy of Weird Animals Vacation Bible School!

CHAPTER 17 - Radical Relationships
Jesus made a habit of going out of his way to welcome and be friends with the poor, sick, and ignored. Jesus believes EVERY PERSON is important! EVERY PERSON is VALUABLE and a Child of God!
Is your family participating in the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl this Lent? Saving even a little bit of change each day helps. Watch this video about children YOU can help!

CHAPTER 18 - Jesus on Lifestyle
Jesus wants us to keep our priorities in the right place!
Jesus wants us to keep our priorities in the right place!
- What are the best things in your life right now?
- Did you mention just THINGS...things that require money to buy? Often we want the NEWEST gadgets, clothes, cellphones, video gaming systems...even though we already have these items...we want BIGGER ONES....BETTER ONES. Why?
- Remember Jesus takes care of all of us...it doesn't matter if we have a BIG house or a small house, or no house at all! Jesus values people - not things!

- What is one thing you can do to share the ABUNDANCE you may have in your life? Are there toys you don't play with any longer that can be donated to others? Do you have clothes that are still in good condition that you don't wear or don't fit? Go through your closets and fill a bag or bags with items you can donate. CHAPTER 19 - Miracles Abound
CHAPTER 20 - Radical Love
The greatest Commandment is to Love God with all our heart and all our soul, but the second is equally as important, to love our neighbor as our self!
- Would you forgive someone if you knew he or she was going to do it again?
Jesus wants us to bring the miracle of love to others. The Gospel says we can do small things with GREAT LOVE.
- What can you do this week to share and show the LOVE of Jesus?
CHAPTER 20 - Radical Love
The greatest Commandment is to Love God with all our heart and all our soul, but the second is equally as important, to love our neighbor as our self!
- You don't have to do anything and God still loves you! That is a special kind of love called "Agape". God asks us to love patiently, kindly, not to be jealous or rude. Is that how you love?
- If you were to meet Jesus today and he asked you, "How well did you love others?" what would you say?
